How often should I whiten my teeth?
Our research shows that teeth requiring an initial whitening due to staining, 10 days of whitening will show a vast improvement and brighten your smiling nicely.
After the initial 10 days of whitening, three to five whitening’s each month along with proper dental hygiene, and depending on whether you drink coffee, tea, wine, or smoke frequently, will be sufficient to keep your smile a dazzling white.
Will teeth whitening cause sensitivity?
Tooth sensitivity is common during the teeth whitening process. In most cases sensitivity is temporary and will go away once you’ve completed the whitening process.
Our remineralization gel reduces tooth sensitivity, strengthens enamel and returns vital minerals and vitamins back into teeth. It is the ideal way to finish a complete whitening treatment.
Remember, whitening sessions do not have to be done consecutively day after day, spread them out to accommodate for your teeth sensitivity, you’ll get the same end results, but it will take a little longer.
Does teeth whitening affect fillings, veneers, and crowns?
Tooth whitening has little or no effect on restorative materials such as porcelain or crowns, but it may temporarily reduce the bond strength between enamel and composite restorations. This is why it’s a good idea to check with your dental professional before beginning any course of tooth whitening.
How long will it take for teeth to become their whitest?
Results will vary. Some teeth may whiten dramatically in just a few days, while others can take a few months. The majority of people whiten within 10 to 12 days. If your teeth are more yellow gray in color, you will achieve much better bleaching/whitening results. Grey enamel similar to that of Tetracycline (antibiotic) staining is more difficult to bleach and can take a few months to achieve a result.
Why is it not recommended to bleach your teeth or use whitestrips while pregnant or nursing?
No research has been done into bleaching teeth while nursing or pregnant, so manufacturers for liability reasons recommend NOT to bleach while pregnant or nursing.
Why should I whiten my teeth?
Why is a smile so important to make a great first impression? In a survey conducted by Kelton Global for the AACD, nearly half of adults (48%) believe that a smile is the most memorable feature after first meeting someone—more so than the first thing a person says (25%). http://www.aacd.com/proxy/files/Publications%20and%20Resources/AACD_First_Impressions.pdf
